Throughout the novel, Of Mice and Men, there are instances of loyalty shown. Most of the loyalty stems from how George desires to obey Aunt Suzy’s wishes for him to watch out for Lennie. Time and time again, George rescues Lennie from trouble. Lennie needs George for survival, and George needs Lennie for companionship and his strong appearance to help them get jobs. They both share a common dream to have their own farm someday, and this keeps them together, along with their need for each other.
The first example of loyalty can be shown through George’s patience with Lennie. Because Lennie got into trouble by touching a ladies dress and other well meaning but dangerous actions, they had to run from a number of farms. George could have just let Lennie get in trouble be
