Harry Potter: Not Suitable For Children

    This review will cover the fourth book in a series of seven called Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (July 2000). Although this is a work of fiction, the underlying tones that the author spells out fit true in today’s society. Joanne K. Rowling, the author, has made it a point to keep her private life just that, private. She was born in England and moved around a lot during her childhood. She graduated from the University of Exeter, and then proceeded to Portugal to teach English. There she married, had a baby girl, and divorced. Upon returning to Edinburgh, England and with very little money, Rowling began to fulfill her dream of being a writer. In between teaching French and caring for her daughter, the first book, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone (September 1998), was written. This book was followed by Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (June 1999) and Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (September 1999). The characters in her books are from childhood friends. As children, Rowling and her friends acted out as if they were witches and wizards. Harry Potter is the real name of one of these playmates. Being the first time I read a Harry Potter book, I found it to be very dry during the first 200 to 250
