The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald is a story which through its characters represents the idea of American dream. The American dream in F. Scott Fitzgerald's novel is to obtain wealth, power, fame and glory. Myrtle her husband George, Tom and Daisy and finally Gatsby itself are excellent examples of how people live to obtain their dream.
