African American Dream
There were many great leaders who affected the African- America race. However Martin Luther King Jr. stood above most. Dr. King’s dream about the prevention of desegregation and hope that color would not matter; he has greatly affected the African- American race.
By affecting the lives of millions of Blacks then and now, he offered a positive image for African- Americans. Martin Luther King Jr. instilled a sense of self-righteousness. “ Negroes may be uneducated or poverty stricken, but these handicaps must not prevent us from seeing that we have within the power to alter fate”(King 133-34). Hearing this blacks came to understand they were not inferior to the white race. Dr. King also gave pride in ones racial background. He pointed out that race is Americas greatest
