Night Essay
The character Elie in the novel Night by Wiesel experiences many loses, tragedies, and heartbreak. Elie has strong love for his family and his God. The novel Night is a story about hope because anybody who could make it through death camps would need some sort of hope to keep them going. Also because he never gave up on his father and he never gave up through this hard and tragic time.
Elie’s family was very important to him; he loved his family very much and did not want to part with them. When his mother and sister went to the showers he felt alone he had nothing but his father. “Men to the left! Women to the right!” “Eight words spoken quietly, indifferently, without emotion. Eight short, simple words. Yet that was the moment when I parted from my mother. I had no time to think, but already I felt the pressure of my father’s hand: we were alone.
