An Argument for Marriage
In this world, where the divorce rate is higher than the marriage success rate, it easier to give a reason why we should not get married than it is to give a reason why we should marry. As a person who got married over one year ago last Saturday I can say that when I announced to my friends that I was getting married a majority of the people I spoke to asked me one of two questions. The first question was whether I was sure I wanted to get married and the second question was why did I want to get married. Thoughts about marriage have gotten very negative. When I sat down to think about why I decided to get married several reasons came to mind?
First of all, I would like to think that we get married for companionship. Some would say that it is because we fall in love, but I think the basic need is for companionship. Life can be very hard. When you have someone to share it with it makes it a lot easier. I got married because I found my best friend. I found a person who I could talk to about my hopes and dreams, a person
