Tuesdays With Morrie
“Tuesdays With Morrie” is a touching story about the author Mitch Albom’s relationship with his college professor Morrie Schwartz. Albom and Schwartz have lost touch after Albom had graduated from Brandeis University more then 16 years ago. While flipping through the television stations Albom hears Ted Koppel from the show “Nightline” speaking to Morrie about what it was like to die from amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (Lou Gehrig’s disease). At this point Mitch Albom is ashamed he lost touch with his professor and horrified of the pain he is going through while coping with this disease. Right away, Albom called his professor, flew to Boston for a reunion, and set up a weekly schedule to visit Morrie for what would be Albom’s “final class”. These weekly visits brought back many joyful memories for both Mitch and Morrie, almost reigniting their loving teacher-student relationship, while simultaneously Morrie teaches his final “class”: the meaning of life.
Morrie was a man who loved to dance and found great satisfaction and joy in music. I believe if Morrie were an entrepreneur he would have started a business along the lines of a record label and recording studio. He would chose to be a part of the music
