Dantes As A Christ-like Figure
To be a Christ-like figure, you must suffer for other people’s sins, but reward those who have helped you. I believe Dantes suffered very much due to the choices made by Danglars, Fernand, and Villefort. He also rewarded those, such as Morrel, for being his friend and not turning their back on him.
Dantes suffered greatly throughout the beginning of the book. He had his life made; Captain of the Pharoan & his fiancée, Mercedes. Due to Villefort’s family and Danglars’ and Fernand’s jealousy, that all was taken away from him. Because of their lies, Dantes’ life was torn apart, just like Christ’s life was taken
