The novel In Dubious Battle is a story about conflict between the working class and the wealthier elite. Mac, a red, is sent by the Communist Party to stir up a revolt against the avaricious proprietors and return justice to the working class with a substantial wage along with dignity. Like any other strike, Mac would continue to another group of agitated workers who needed a leader to rebel.
