Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers (chapters 1-7)
The Fellowship of the Ring-bearer, consisting of four Hobbits (Sam, Frodo the ring-bearer, Pippin and Merry), two Men (Boromir and Aragorn), one Dwarf (Gimli), one Elf (Legolas), and one Wizard (Gandalf, who previously fell deep into the Mines of Moria and has yet to return), are in the heat of battle against a group of Orcs when Boromir is pierced by arrows and dies, but not before letting out a final blow on his horn to let the others know of the danger that is coming. As the rest of the Fellowship is drawn towards Boromir’s horn, the Orcs escape with Pippin and Merry, and Frodo and Sam travel across the river to go on to Mordor to destroy the ring alone.
