Frankenstein Real Monster

    Who is the real monster? There are similarities between Victor Frankenstein and his monster; both have been isolated, abandoned, and become outcasts of modern society. During the novel they both grow away from their similarities and all of their differences come about. Victor Frankenstein is less human than the monster; he displays this by abandoning the monster, acting selfish and greedy and by not caring for those he is supposed to love. Victor and the monster start out alike, they both are outcasts. Victor becomes an outcast when he consumes himself in work and is isolated when the creature kills those he loves. The creature is obviously isolated and becomes an outsider because he is ugly, and deformed. This is what drives the monster to commit his morally wrong activities. Victor starts out with good intentions, he went away to study natural beliefs. Soon his own self-centeredness and greed over powers him.
