Response #1 on “Death of a Salesman”
In Arthur Miller’s play “Death of a Salesman”, we are introduced to Willy Loman, as a
salesman in his sixties with his wife, Linda Loman. As we read from the opening of the play, we
learn a lot about the two characters and their issues.
Willy Loman is a sixty-year-old man who has issues based on his family, work, and his
mental and physical health. As we are reading the play, we are learning about his mental and
physical health. As we are reading the play, we are learning about his mental and physical health.
We are revealed to his body’s tired and exhausted nature. His body was dead tired when he got
back. “I’m tired to the death. I couldn’t make it. I just couldn’t make it, Linda” (Pg13). We also
learned that his body was giving him problems when he was driving. “I suddenly couldn’t drive
any more.”(Pg13). Additionally, while he is driving he is not remembering what happened in the
last five minutes. “No, its me, it’s me. Suddenly I realize I’m going sixty mil
