Mockingbird Other Point of View
“He in there, Mr. Finch?” Sounded like it came from Mista’ Cunningham. But I don’t know. All I heard was talk ‘bout me and the trial ‘n Atticus. Atticus talked a little, coverin’ me cause those whites probably kill me if they gots the chance. He’s one heck of I person I’d say.
“He-y Atticus” was the next thing I hear. Sounded like ‘em kids, some white children. Maybe it could ‘a been Atticus’ kids, but it’s awfully late.
Atticus said, “Go home, Jem,” so I guess t’was his children. Then there was some kinda argument between them but all I heard was “No,” then “Go home,” but there was too much mumblin’ in the crowd. I’m still very scar’d right now, those folks gonna hu’t me, ‘cause of a crime I ain’t don!
