Julius Caesar Brutus Downfall
Brutus?s tragic flaw it that he is dishonest to his family and friends, he thinks highly of himself and he overrules everybody. In ?Julius Caesar" by William Shakespeare, Brutus and the conspirators kill Caesar, so Brutus can have power over the town.
One major tragic flaw that Brutus does is he lies to his family and friends. Portia asks Brutus what is wrong and responds, "I am not well in health and that is all" (2.1.277). Brutus should have told Portia what he was planning on doing. Since Brutus lied and said he was not well, he killed Caesar and ended up losing his life because of it. Brutus lied once again when he told the citizen?s, "Not that I loved Caesar less, but that I loved Rome more" (3.2.23-24). Brutus lied to make the citizens believe he killed Caesar for the good of Rome. Which they interrupted as he should replace Caesar. When Brutus laws dishonest he gets people to go in his
