Cue for Treason
Cue for Treason is a novel about a plot to assassinate Queen Elizabeth 1st and gives us an opportunity to discover a world we might not have otherwise known. It takes place in the 1600’s, with the mixture of fact and creative writing, as the novel is full of suspense and English history adventure. Throughout the novel one can easily identify with Peter Brownrigg a common but brave boy who defies treason and is loyal to his country. However, personally, I admire Katherine (Kit) who does not demonstrate the usual characteristics of a girl during this era. She demonstrates bravery, independents and adventure. Her character clearly illustrates that females are very brave and not an inferior sex, even if in those days, she might have gone to jail for her deeds.
. Kit demonstrates bravery on many occasions throughout the novel in her quest to help the queen stay alive because the spineless Sir Phillips plans to kill her. She holds on and doesn't let any one know that she isn't a man. If they ever knew that she was female, no one would have trusted her, believed in her, or let her have female equality. Her
