Lord of the Flies - Simon's Death an Accident?
The death of Simon is a turning point in "Lord of the Flies". It represents the completion of their degeneration from civilization to savagery. Some say his death was murder, some say it was an accident. As we never get into the heads of those who killed him, we'll never really know. I, however, am of the mind that his death was no accident.
I'm not saying it was outright murder. It wasn't premeditated, and, at first, they had no idea who, or even what Simon was. As the attck on Simon continued, however, they realized it was
