    Black Boy By Richard Wright Black Boy is a very interesting book that teaches a number of lessons about what it was like to be a black man in the south from 1900 to 1945. The story, written by Richard Wright, is a novel about what his life was like living during that time. He spent most of his childhood hungry. Richard's father left the family when Richard was very young. His mother was very sick most of the time, so even though she wanted the best for her children, it was hard for her to support them. Because of this difficulty, Richard moves a lot. They eventually end up staying at his Granny’s house, but then tries living with his Uncle because of all his Granny’s rules.
