Night
Most people do not know what the Holocaust is. People who know what it is try to pretend and ignore the fact that it happened. Like in the autobiography, Night, written by Elie Wiesel, the town of Sighet knew the Holocaust was going on and coming their way, but they ignored it. As a result, the town of Sighet was evacuated and forced into ghettoes, and eventually into concentration or death camps. Eleven million people died because they did not fit into one man’s vision of a perfect world. Elie, from Night, experienced pain, starvation, loneliness, loss of faith, and injustice similar to millions of other people. People who were apart of the Holocaust, got a taste of what hell is like. It was one of the worst crimes humans have ever inflicted on themselves.
In the beginning of Night, Elie was a young boy who went through so much pain and still survived one of the darkest eras in the history of human kind. He was about fourteen to fifteen years old, had brown eyes, brown hair, and he was Jewish. He lived in a small town called Sighet with both of his parents and his three sisters.
