Adolescent Depression
No one can combine a four point zero, homecoming princess, and suicide together. This characteristic is an inconceivable image of a beautiful seventeen year old young lady. Unimaginable, but vastly possible because, she is my sister. One morning we were talking about the headline news, and a couple hours later, she was talking to her high school counselor about shooting herself. According to Dr. Liu, crying out for help is a common indication that a person is suffering some form of depression, and 80% of these cases is a scared and desperate adolescent.
Depression is a disease that effects the human psyche where there may be a too few, or too much chemical imbalance in the brain (Brown 2002). Scale range can be from mild to severe. This is a serious problem that calls for prompt, and appropriate treatment because if unrecognized, may lead to serious forms of depression, including bipolar disorder (formally known as manic-depression), or suicide (Grant 2002).
